CORETEC™ LEARN MORE
SA1NT Co-Founder Aidan Clarke: "When we set out to build the world's strongest single-layer riding denim, Kevlar was the obvious starting point. We made great fabrics on a Kevlar base but when it came to meeting CE motorcycle apparel protection standards in a true single layer, it kept falling short. We needed to go further."
That search led to UHMWPE, Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene. The world's strongest fibre. A high-density material that spins like cotton, moves like stretch denim, and tests to CE AA and CE AAA ratings without a liner or bulky layer in sight.
- World's strongest fibre, 15× stronger than steel by weight
- Used in Apache helicopter armour plating
- Moors space shuttles to space stations
- Floats on water
- Spins and wears like cotton
CORETEC™ is SA1NT's proprietary tri-core yarn construction engineered from the inside out for maximum protection in a single layer.
- Core layer: Lycra for flexibility and stretch
- Middle layer: UHMWPE wrapped around the core for unbreakable strength
- Outer layer: Recycled cotton for comfort and wearability
This tri-core yarn is woven across the denim weft, combined with a cotton and nylon blended warp yarn. The result: a fabric that looks and feels like regular denim but performs to the highest CE moto protection standards available.
CE ratings are the European standard for motorcycle protective garments (EN17092). They measure abrasion, burst, and impact resistance. Higher rating = greater protection.
- CE AA — high-performance protection. Suitable for everyday riding and commuting. 12oz Coretec Range
- CE AAA — the highest rating available. SA1NT's 14oz CORETEC™ jeans. Maximum protection for performance and aggressive riding.
Both ratings are achieved in a true single layer — no liners, no bulk, no compromise on style.
12oz = CE AA / 14oz = CE AAA
All CORETEC™ jeans ship with D30 Ghost armour ultra-thin, CE-certified Level 1 impact protection at both the hip and knee.
- D30 Ghost Hip Armour: CE Level 1, EN1621-1:2012 Type A coverage
- D30 Ghost Knee Armour: CE Level 1, EN1621-1:2012 Type A coverage, adjustable positioning
D30 Ghost armour is engineered to be soft and flexible in normal use, hardening instantly on impact to absorb and disperse energy.
Yes. That's the entire point. SA1NT was built on the idea that you shouldn't have to choose between protection and style.
CORETEC™ jeans have no liners, no inserts, no visible safety features. UHMWPE is woven directly into the fabric same weight as regular denim, same silhouette, same all-day wearability. Equally at home on the bike or on the street.
Always inspect and replace your garment after any crash, even if damage isn't immediately visible. Impact and abrasion can compromise the protective fibres in ways that aren't obvious to the eye.
Protective performance cannot be guaranteed in a garment that has been involved in a crash incident. Replace it before riding again.
Yes and it's tested to the same European standard used for all certified motorcycle protective gear (EN17092). CE testing simulates real crash conditions across three measures: abrasion resistance (fabric dragged at speed across a surface), burst strength (pressure applied until failure), and impact protection (via the D30 armour). SA1NT CORETEC™ 12oz meets CE AA. The 14oz meets CE AAA, the highest rating available. These aren't marketing claims. They're independently certified results.
Both use the same CORETEC™ triple composite construction. The difference is fabric weight which directly affects protection level and feel. 12oz is lighter, more flexible, and rated CE AA ideal for everyday commuting and warmer conditions. 14oz is heavier, more durable, and rated CE AAA the highest moto protection standard available. If you're pushing harder or want maximum protection, go 14oz.
That's the whole point. SA1NT was built on the idea that protective gear shouldn't look like protective gear. CORETEC™ jeans have no liners, no visible safety panels, no bulk. The D30 Ghost armour is ultra-thin and soft until impact. On the street, they look and move like a quality pair of black denim. On the bike, they're CE-certified to protect you.
D30 is a rate-sensitive material soft and flexible in normal movement, it stiffens and hardens on impact to absorb and disperse energy. SA1NT uses D30 Ghost armour the thinnest D30 product available, so protection adds almost no bulk to the jean. Both hip and knee armour are CE Level 1 certified to EN1621-1:2012. The knee armour is adjustable so it sits exactly where you need it.
Yes. SA1NT's women's CORETEC™ range uses the same triple composite fabric technology and D30 Ghost armour as the men's range CE AA and CE AAA rated. Cut specifically for women's fit in slim and skinny styles. Same protection. No gender tax on safety.
Remove the D30 armour inserts before washing they're not machine wash safe. Turn the jeans inside out, wash on a cold gentle cycle, and air dry.
Avoid tumble drying as heat can degrade the UHMWPE fibres over time. Do not dry clean.
After any crash regardless of visible damage the garment should be retired and replaced. The protective fibres may be compromised in ways that aren't visible.
